How To Set Up Your Jewelry Display That Makes More Sales
If you’ve wandered around most malls in the past few months, and if you were specifically looking for jewelry, you would surely have been impressed by the jewelry display. And I’m not just talking about the holiday season decoration. I am talking about the actual jewelry display items. If you ask me, it is these jewelry display items that make the jewelry that much more appealing, and my wife ravenous for more baubles!
I’ve always been a fan of good display. I like my meal in a restaurant to not only taste right, but also to be presented or displayed well. Especially when it comes to jewelry display, I might purchase some jewelry for no other reason than the fact that the jewelry display was compelling enough. And as someone who keeps track of the changing trends in jewelry display, I can tell you that the field has come very far indeed.
When I was younger, some of the jewelry display I saw was horrendous. Disembodied hands, feet and even fingers gave me nightmares. I especially hated the feature-less bust of women which had a necklace dangling around a pale neck or an ear-ring slipped into a Paper Mache ear. They looked more like Casper in drag than anything else! Thankfully, things have changed and for the better! The wide array of latest jewelry display units available nowadays is pleasant, attractive and compelling.
The hideous bust has been replaced with ear-ring card racks. These racks present the ear-rings in the best possible light (literally and figuratively!) While they display the jewelry clearly, these racks also serve to enhance the visual appeal of the products on offer. Or take the bracelet ramps for instance. As an example of fine jewelry display, they are unrivalled. Their predecessors were the gory, disembodied hands (often cracked and peeling) which gave me and scores of other shoppers nightmares. In one memorable instance, I was able to even witness the inefficacy of that particular form of jewelry display. An obviously wealthy lady had entered the jewelry shop where I was browsing and looked for a bracelet. The eager salesman, smelling the possibility of making a killing, brought out several jewelry displays. The lady took one look at the sleek, perfect hand figurines, looked down at her own gnarled paws and left the shop outraged and dismissive. If I were that salesman, I would immediately have gotten rid of the entire range of jewelry display figurines!
Speaking for myself, I personally find that utility box jewelry displays, which are lined with velvet, are very attractive. Not only do they give the jewelry within a touch of class, they also make the buyer feel like the owner of a prize jewel. And delicate utility box jewelry displays with small, elegant clasps are the ideal way to store or present jewelry. Most jewelry shops should have already realized this. And if they haven’t they had better go for it soon. A big ticket item like jewelry demands its own method of jewelry display. And in most cases, it is the jewelry display that often clinches the deal.
